Code Red

  Emergency Notification System

Notification System CodeRED® is a new service offered by Lower Frederick Township to notify residents of public safety issues by high-speed telephone emergency notification services.  This free service will notify local residents and businesses by telephone about emergency situations or critical community alerts. The system is capable of sending messages only to people affected by a particular situation, or, in the case of a widespread emergency like severe weather, to the area’s entire population. The Township Manager, Chief of Police and Emergency Management Coordinator have been trained on the system to ensure all citizens can be informed of any public safety issues.

The speed of the CodeRED®system (up to 50,000 calls per hour) allows municipal officials to send a message to affected households almost as quickly as officials become aware of the situation. Local officials try to keep our data base as current and accurate as possible. If there are any changes to be made to your residence information or you would like additional information, simply click the CodeRED® links below and follow the instructions.

Mobile Alert App
The CodeRed Mobile Alert app taps into the national CodeRed Emergency Notification System and alerts iPhone and Android Subscribers located within a given notification area.  The app is geo-ware, so no matter where you are when an alert is issued, you will receive notifications that affect you – directly to your mobile device.   With CodeRed Mobile Alert app subscribers have the ability to manage their alert preferences and the app adjusts the types of notifications sent, based on those preferences.

Registration and Updating.
Residents with unlisted phone numbers, anyone who has changed his or her phone number or address within the last year, and anyone who uses a cellular phone as their primary phone number should register their number with the service to ensure their number is in the database. Residents can also add an alternate number, such as a cellular phone, to their record if they wish.  Providing an alternate phone number will cause both the primary and alternate phone numbers to be contacted in the event a call goes out for the address specified.
